It has its flaws – it’s way too long, and most of the family stuff that’s supposed to be crucial seems like padding, and then there’s Sophia Coppola’s performance or lack thereof – but I don’t think The Godfather Part III deserves the reputation The Simpsons gave it. I actually found it more entertaining than the second film, the Vatican being a far more interesting setting for a gangster movie than some casino in Cuba. I think when it comes to Part 2, people confuse a good flashback sequence with a good film.
